Mega moved its offices to achieve a new collaborative work culture

The move of offices promoted new ways of working. Technology, hybrid work and sustainability mark the change. And they transform the way we work as a team.

The Mega Company, a leading Argentine company in the natural gas and petrochemical industry, during 2022 underwent this process of cultural change, a one-way path towards a new way of working. Paradigma has accompanied the company in this project of moving and organizational culture, contributing its know-how, developing and following work plans that contribute to the sustainability of the business, operational effectiveness, the application of the latest technologies and ensuring that all people go through this process being part of the project, contributing ideas and proposals.

Based on this, from Paradigma, partner Gabriela Sneider explained: “For a consultancy like ours, the main challenges in accompanying a company like Mega in an office move were aimed, first of all, at surveying the needs and types of spaces suitable for the new hybrid and, above all, collaborative work modality.”

The initiative

The challenge that Compañía Mega faced with the support of Paradigma and Intro Arquitectura, consisted of optimizing the Headquarters offices in the Buenos Aires Microcenter, reducing its surface from 1,400 to 800 m2. Beyond focusing on productivity, he considered the emotional and personal aspects, “the enjoyment of going to the office.”

Gilda Yezze, HR and RRII manager at Mega, defined a clear purpose: “Generate spaces that talk about us, that promote and enhance our culture and the way we live our #ADNMega, work collaboratively, share, create ideas and remember that work is with others and for others.” We decided to offer our collaborators an open, modern space, with living rooms and coffee point-style meeting areas, reading spaces, silent and meeting rooms equipped with the latest technology equipment, all with the aim of providing an innovative, safe and sustainable proposal, promoting a sense of connected community.

And he added: "We are happy and proud, we managed to implement work spaces that encourage the creation of ideas, learning and collaborative work, allowing the office to be a meeting place that enhances our culture and values. After several months of teamwork we inaugurated our new Headquarters."

Among the benefits of this process, the integration of organizational culture, dynamics and processes stands out; the implementation of the concept of the office as a meeting point in a warm, relaxed, familiar and safe environment; optimizing the employee experience.

Different premises were considered for the new offices: shared and flexible spaces, inviting the positions to be denominated based on a hybrid face-to-face and home office modality; and a sustainable concept with interior green spaces, optimizing the use of natural light and energy savings, contributing to the reduction in the carbon footprint from the reduction of trips and the attendance of people to the place).

Likewise, we sought to cover all the needs of people and teams by promoting “rules of coexistence” (noise, hygiene and safety, storage spaces), ensuring having the appropriate technology for the best experience, suggesting the appropriate use of each type of space (collaborative tables, individual spaces, call booths, meeting rooms, dining room, etc.).

Clearly, nothing will be the same after the pandemic and Compañía Mega was one of the companies that quickly understood the new context of the labor market, putting the focus on people and adapting its facilities to the new work dynamics, prioritizing the organizational culture and seeking to accompany the business and its people with comfort, design, efficiency, quality, sustainability and technology.
